This is your time to relax and escape to the peaceful and tranquil setting of Gillrudding Grange, a spectacular Georgian Manor House built in 1864.

Set in 1000 acres of countryside, Gillrudding Grange is a working farm located in Escrick, the vale of York, North Yorkshire offering the perfect environment for the relaxing therapies offered.

Chloe has been practising for 10 years as a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).

My passion for all these therapies began when I was little. The farmhouse would get chilly in the winter and mum would put essential oils in my bath, I just loved the smell. My dad and brother would always come in from the farm with aches and pains so I would give their back and shoulders a rub.

I went off to University and after finishing my Science degree in Complementary Medicine and Health Science I worked in Health Spa's.

I later moved back to York and started practice in the dedicated treatment room of my Farm House, 6 miles south of the City of York.

I don't think there's anything better than experiencing the effects of a real therapy. Its a purifying and cleansing feeling for the whole body.

My real interest lies in understanding imbalances of the body, whether its physical such as an injury or a stressful matter of the mind. I believe Complementary Therapies can work in harmony with each other and alongside orthodox medicine.

Two years ago I went to Thailand and qualified at the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai. I continued my travelling through Asia absorbing the healing methods which are so different to the conventional medicines of the UK. I lived in New Zealand for 6 months and 3 months in Australia during the summer.

I want my clients to feel they have experienced a truly high quality treatment in a totally relaxing environment, feeling totally revived afterwards.

I have always been interested in a holistic approach to health and have experienced first hand the very many benefits that alternative therapies can bring.

As well as treatments being hugely beneficial to one's holistic health I believe that alternative therapies can be used alongside Western medicine in such a way that it is complemented and enhanced.

In 2004, I attended a non-vocational course provided by York college. I was amazed by the positive effects that this gentle non-invasive therapy had on mind, body and spirit and decided to train as a reflexology practitioner.

I graduated with The Association of Reflexologists (AOR) 2006. As a member of the AOR I am bound by their Practice and Ethics and I am also required to show evidence of continued professional development. You will find me on their list of registered practitioners, by searching for Gillian Atkinson.

Since qualifying, I have so far completed the following courses: Maternity Reflexology, Meridians of the feet, Auricular Reflexology, Language of the feet and Chi reflexology.

Bringing the benefits of this wonderful therapy to many different people is a true privilege.
